West Cup volleyball Tournament – 09/10/22

Location: Western Sydney Volleyball – Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre, 30 Herbert St, Cambridge Park NSW 2747 Australia

Date: Sunday 09/10/2022

TIME: 8am – 4:30pm

Cost:

  • Open Women’s (DIV 1), OPEN MEN’S and Mix (DIV 1 and 2) – $250 AUD per team (At Least 4 games)
  • 13 – 16 years Boy’s and Girl’s – $200 AUD per team (at least 4 games)
  • 9 – 12 years Mixed – $150 AUD per team (at least 2 games)

Format and Rules:

  • Round Robin Games – Best of 3 sets (ahead by 2, deciding set (if applicable) to 15 ahead by 2)
  • Cross-Over / Finals – Best of 3 sets (ahead by 2, deciding set (if applicable) to 15 ahead by 2)
  • No time limit
  • 2 x 30 second time outs per set permitted
  • SIX (6) players must be on court within 10 minutes of game start time or opposing team will be AWARDED a win for the first (1st) set. If a team does not have all six (6) players on the court within 15 minutes of game start time, the game will be a forfeit and the opposing team will be awarded the win.
  • Mixed teams must have at least one (1) player of each gender on the court at all times.
  • Unlimited substitutions (each player can only replace the same one (1) player each set).
  • Each team must wear matching colour playing shirts whiLST playing.

Western Sydney Volleyball reserves to the rights to change the rules as required without notice.

Net heights

  • 9 – 12 years Mixed – 2.00 meters
  • 13 to 16 years Girls – 2.15 meters
  • 13 to 16 years Boy’s – 2.24 meters
  • Open age Women’s – 2.24 meters
  • Open age Mixed – 2.32 meters
  • Open age Men’s – 2.43 meters

Teams required to provide when on duty:
1st Ref (ages 9 – 12 years may require a adult or competent 13 – 18 year old)
2nd Ref
2 x Lines persons
1 x Scorer

Western Sydney volleyball will provide:
1 x game match ball per court
1 x squeeze whistle per court
Game score sheets, pens and score flip board

FORFEITS: A GAME WILL BE CLASSIFIED AS A FORFEIT WHEN: –

  • LESS THAN six (6) PLAYERS ARE READY TO TAKE THE COURT LATER THAN 15 MINUTES AFTER THE SCHEDULED GAME TIME. IN THIS INSTANCE THE OPPOSING TEAM WILL BE AWARDED THE WIN.
  • PLAYING A PLAYER NOT LISTED ON THE GAME SHEET PRIOR TO SCHEDULED GAME TIME (UNLESS APPROVED PRIOR BY WESTERN SYDNEY VOLLEYBALL).
  • VIOLATION OF ANY WESTERN SYDNEY VOLLEYBALL REGULATIONS.

GAME TIMING: GAMES WILL CONSIST OF BEST OF 3 SETS (25, 25,15) with no time limit.

JEWELLERY/ HATS: ALL HATS AND/OR JEWELRY INCLUDING WATCHES, RINGS, AND EARRINGS MUST NOT BE WORN. PLAIN WEDDING BAND WITH NO STONES IS PERMISSIBLE. ALL EYEBROW RINGS AND NOSE RINGS MUST BE TAPED.

GAME BALL: THESE ARE TO BE SUPPLIED BY WESTERN SYDNEY VOLLEYBALL FOR EACH GAME.

RECORDING OF INJURIES: ALL INJURIES INCURRED WHILST PLAYING MUST BE RECORDED, GIVING THE INJURED PLAYERS NAME, BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF HOW THE INJURY OCCURRED AND THE EXTENT OF THE INJURY. THE STADIUM CO- COORDINATOR WILL HAVE INJURY REPORT PAPERWORK AND THIS MUST BE SIGNED.

PLAYER CONDUCT: VIOLATIONS IN UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR OR BREACHES IN CODE OF CONDUCT MAY RESULT IN A INDIVIDUALS OR TEAM(S) SUSPENSION AND OR EXPULSION FROM THE WESTERN SYDNEY VOLLEYBALL COMPETITIONS.

COMSUMPTION OF INTOXICATING SUBSTANCES: THESE ARE TO BE AVOIDED PRIOR TO YOUR GAMES AS CONSUMING THESE MAY HAVE A DETRIMENTAL EFFECT ON YOUR VISION, BALANCE AND REACTION TIMES, THEREFORE INCREASING THE LIKELIHOOD OF INJURY TO THE INDIVIDUAL AND FELLOW PLAYERS. PLAYERS FOUND TO BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF INTOXICATING SUBSTANCES WILL BE SUSPENDED FROM PLAYING.

CODE OF CONDUCT:

  • PLAY BY THE RULES.
  • NEVER ARGUE WITH AN OFFICIAL. IF YOU DISAGREE, HAVE YOUR CAPTAIN, APPROACH THE UMPIRE DURING A BREAK OR AFTER THE GAME IN AN APPROPRIATE MANNER.
  • CONTROL YOUR TEMPER. VERBAL ABUSE OF OFFICIALS OR OTHER PLAYERS, DELIBERATELY DISTRACTING OR PROVOKING OTHER PLAYERS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED OR PERMITTED.
  • BE A GOOD SPORT.
  • TREAT ALL PLAYERS AND OFFICIALS WITH RESPECT.
  • DO NOT INTERFERE WITH, BULLY OR TAKE UNFAIR ADVANTAGE OF ANOTHER PLAYER.
  • NEVER USE DEROGATORY LANGUAGE BASED ON GENDER, RACE OR IMPAIRMENT.
  • OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ON ANY LEVEL.
  • NEVER ARRIVE TO PLAY UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ANY DRUGS AND\OR ALCOHOL.
  • Be ready to play prior to your scheduled start time.

NOTE: A PLAYER or team WHO BREACHES THE CODE OF CONDUCT will be warned verbally and if a repeat offence is observered, organisers have the right to remove the individual or team from the competition.
