We started our volley ball journey with western Sydney volley ball recently and we couldn’t be happier. The coach Joe is wonderful with all the children, reasonable prices, and a sense of community and belonging was a big stand out for me, for my boys. Highly recommend

Moved to Australia in 2005 and found my way to Joe’s volleyball with a bunch of mates. I wouldn’t be without my Wednesday fix of Volleyball and have done it consistently since 2005, it’s the perfect way to hit the middle of the week and something I look forward to.

It’s the perfect balance of fun social play yet the standard is very high if you want to play a grade. For those starting out, the other grades are the prefect way to hone your skills.

Grab some mates and get down and play some ball!

Paying $300+ to play in a representative team seems excessive. I'm not sure what players are actually getting for that fee. I understand there are costs such as venue hire etc, at the very least, team shirts should be included.

There are far too many kids at training, and it feels like the focus is mainly on the top rep teams / players. There are enough junior and intermediate players to create another two or three teams.

When junior teams compete in tournaments, they often have no coaches around. I've even seen parents step in just to provide some organisation for the team.

It seems that most of the coaching is directed towards the top male and female rep teams, while the beginner teams are left behind. They appear to be ignored or are repeating the same drills every training session with little opportunity to develop.

As for the social competition, thats fine. The downside?? finishing work and then sometimes having games that start at 9-930pm.

Western Sydney Volleyball has taught me so much, from starting out as someone who couldn’t even hit the ball, to me now having open pathways into teams that represent NSW, I can proudly say that this is all thanks to Western Sydney Volleyball. With their programs and drills, they make sure to work on your weaknesses and make you a better player. The coaches are determined to teach me new things and the club is always giving us options to join tournaments whether it’s in some place like Canberra or Homebush. Would recommend joining!
