U15 Junior Mixed- Beginner (For juniors new to the game developing fundamental skills. Rules are slightly modified to encourage rally’s and fun)

U16 Junior mixed – Intermediate (For juniors  with foundational skills that do not require modification to rules to play competitively)

Format and Rules:

  • NO TIME LIMIT
  • Round Robin Games – Best of 3 sets (ahead by 2, deciding set (if applicable) to 15 ahead by 2)
  • Cross-Over / Finals – Best of 3 sets (ahead by 2, deciding set (if applicable) to 15 ahead by 2)
  • 2 x 30 second time outs per set permitted
  • Six (6) players must be on the court within 10 minutes of the game start time, or the opposing team will be awarded a win for the first (1st) set. If a team does not have all six (6) players on the court within 15 minutes of the game start time, the game will be forfeited, and the opposing team will be awarded the win.
  • 12 sub rule wIll be used (except junior Mixed that will have unlimited subs)
  • Each team must wear numbered matching coloured playing shirts while playing, with the libero wearing a contrasting colour or bib (except Mixed Divisions)

Western Sydney Volleyball reserves the right to change the rules as required without notice.

Teams are required to provide when on duty:

1 x Scorer

Western Sydney volleyball will provide:
1 x game match ball per court
1 x squeeze whistle per court
Game score sheets, pens and score flip board

FORFEITS: A GAME WILL BE CLASSIFIED AS A FORFEIT WHEN:

  • Six (6) players must be prepared to begin play no later than 15 minutes after the scheduled game time. Failure to do so will result in the opposing team being awarded the win.
  • Engaging in gameplay with an individual who is not registered on the official game sheet prior to the commencement of the scheduled match is prohibited unless prior authorization has been explicitly granted by Western Sydney Volleyball.
  • Players are only able to play in 1 (one) team per age group. Players may play in multiple age groups if they are eligible and need to be approved by Western Sydney Volleyball and recorded on the official game sheet.
  • Violation of any Western Sydney Volleyball code of conduct or regulations.

GAME TIMING: GAMES WILL CONSIST OF BEST OF 3 SETS (25, 25,15) with no time limit.

JEWELLERY/HATS: Please refrain from wearing any hats or jewellery, including watches, rings, and earrings. A plain wedding band without stones is acceptable. Additionally, all eyebrow rings and nose rings must be covered with tape.

RECORDING OF INJURIES: All injuries incurred whilst playing must be recorded, giving the injured players name, brief description of how the injury occurred, and the extent of the injury. the stadium co- coordinator will have injury report paperwork and this must be signeD.

PLAYER CONDUCT: Violations in unacceptable behaviour or breaches in code of conduct may result in an individuals or team(s) suspension and / or expulsion from the Western Sydney Volleyball competitions.

COMSUMPTION OF INTOXICATING SUBSTANCES: These are to be avoided prior to your games as consuming these may have a detrimental effect on your vision, balance and reaction times, therefore increasing the likelihood of injury to the individual and fellow players. players found to be under the influence of intoxicating substances will be suspended from playing.

CODE OF CONDUCT:

  • PLAY BY THE RULES.
  • NEVER ARGUE WITH AN OFFICIAL. IF YOU DISAGREE, HAVE YOUR CAPTAIN, APPROACH THE UMPIRE IN AN APPROPRIATE MANNER.
  • CONTROL YOUR TEMPER. VERBAL ABUSE OF OFFICIALS OR OTHER PLAYERS, DELIBERATELY DISTRACTING OR PROVOKING OTHER PLAYERS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED OR PERMITTED.
  • BE A GOOD SPORT.
  • TREAT ALL PLAYERS AND OFFICIALS WITH RESPECT.
  • DO NOT INTERFERE WITH, BULLY OR TAKE UNFAIR ADVANTAGE OF ANOTHER PLAYER.
  • NEVER USE DEROGATORY LANGUAGE BASED ON GENDER, RACE OR IMPAIRMENT.
  • OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ON ANY LEVEL.
  • NEVER ARRIVE TO PLAY UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ANY DRUGS AND\OR ALCOHOL.
  • BE READY TO PLAY PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED START TIME.

NOTE: A PLAYER or TEAM who breaches the code of conduct will be warned verbally, and if a repeat offence is observered, organisers have the right to remove the individual or team from the competition.
